Live Oak’s top purchase on the first day of the Keeneland September yearling sale was a $350,000 filly consigned by Charlton as agent for Maple Leaf Farms.
The Malibu Moon yearling is the first foal out of the stakes winning Yonaguska mare Hidden Expression, who is a half-sister to Grade 1 Whitney S. winner Bullsbay and Grade 3 winner Our Khrysty.
Live Oak purchased a total of three fillies on the day, including a $275,000 War Front offering who comes from the same family as the incomparable filly Lakeway; and a Candy Ride (ARG) filly out of the unraced Storm Cat mare Lorelei K, whose dam Win Crafty Lady has produced three graded stakes winners: Harmony Lodge, Graeme Hall and Win McCool.
